Fun And Creative Ways On Making Kids Understand Christianity
Many children would look at christianity as though it were something really plain and boring like just sitting on hard rock benches while singing songs of praise to the almighty God, and they never really associated it with fun and laughter. Adults will most likely know better than that, and we all fully understand how christianity does not only involve being in church during Sunday masses, but the kids are not that knowledgeable yet and they are very much naive about things, hence the impression they have of the religion. Parents should always make sure that their kids do not only have their thoughts about christianity in that kind of sense, but make them understand as to how wide the concept of the religion is, as well as the values that the religion teaches them to have in life. It has always been a difficult job to let your kids understand, especially if they have already developed a sense of opinion among several concepts, but down below are a few guidelines that you can use in order for you to make your children learn more about the religion and their faith in general.
Volunteer to work in a homeless shelter
It is very important for any Christian to be always there for those who need him, because one of the values that the church teaches is to help those who need help, which is why it can be an educating experience to have your children learn to care about the less fortunate. Most of these homeless shelters are jam packed during the busy days of the year, which is why a lot of people who have hearts of gold would volunteer to give them some used clothes and food so that they feel warm even without their own shelter. It would be a great help if you bring your kids with you when you volunteer on these homeless shelters because it can open their eyes and widen their knowledge about helping people who are in need of their help, making them understand what christianity really is. But it will also be nice if they also know that there is more to christianity and their faith than just helping those less fortunate and giving food to those who are hungry. Some other things that volunteers do for the needy are:
They meet the people in need and greet them in a really nice way.
Helping prepare the meals for those people who are hungry.
Serving them to those who want food for their stomachs.
Helping out with the cleaning of the plates the hungry have used to eat on.
Lending a hand for all those cleaning duties that should be done afterwards.
Another fun way would be arranging scavenger hunts during Christmas and giving the kids some christmas scavenger hunt clues.
